Kennith L. Peterson attended
Pepperdine University Law School, Malibu, California where he received
his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1982 and was admitted to the California
State Bar in 1983. Mr. Peterson obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree as
well as a Master of Arts Degree from California State University,
Sacramento. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker. He is an approved
Arbitrator for the Orange County Superior Court as well as the WCAB. He
is also a judge pro tem for the WCAB. He was appointed on September 28,
1999 as Special Deputy Attorney General for the State of Idaho for the
purpose of representing the State of Idaho, State Insurance Fund in Tom
Miller Roofing, Inc v. Acceptance Companies, OCSC Case No. 808565. Mr. Peterson was asked to represent the State of Idaho, State Insurance Fund, because of his extensive understanding of not only workers’ compensation laws, but the laws dealing with insurance coverage. Mr. Peterson has testified before the State Congressional Workers’ Compensation sub-committee in Sacramento. He has testified in superior court cases regarding workers’ compensation laws and procedures. He is a past president of the Orange County Workers’ Compensation Defense Association. He has been an approved instructor for the Insurance Educational Association. He has taught numerous classes for the California Self-Insurance test. He has a certificate from the Department of Self-Insurance regarding workers’ compensation laws. Mr. Peterson is the author of the CompDigest. This is a monthly newsletter that provides updates to the workers’ compensation community. Mr. Peterson has tried hundreds of cases. He has obtained numerous take nothings. Mr. Peterson prides himself for being knowledgeable with superior court procedure and requirements as well as workers’ compensation procedure and requirements. Mr. Peterson has conducted numerous jury trials. He has also been quite successful in pursuing subrogation claims on behalf of workers’ compensation carriers. Mr. Peterson has considerable understanding and knowledge of the medical components of personal injury claims, having dealt with numerous personal injury claims in the past as well as workers’ compensation claims. Over his career he has taken hundreds of depositions of medical doctors, including psychologists and other medical providers. Mr. Peterson is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before all courts in the State of California, as well as the United States District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California. Very active in his community, Mr. Peterson has managed and coached numerous soccer, basketball and baseball teams since 1997. Mr. Peterson has contributed to the various leagues as a sponsor of each team that he has managed or coached, as well as the contributing to the local high school teams. He served as Cub Master for Pack 706 in Placentia from 1996 – 2003. He has four children and has lived in Yorba Linda since August of 1994. |
